Album Cover
Re-designing an album cover means setting the mood and message represented in the music. For this project we were asked to explore how the album expresses duality. Duality creates depth and encourages that sense of interpretation for the audience. Researching the album’s themes, lyrics, and cultural context, duality was represented in this album through the calming beat and rough lyrics. This project encouraged designers to go beyond the digital world and explore physical manipulation. Although this final product is digitally manipulated, having physical manipulation as a part of this process was important to reach this final product. At the end of this process we were tasked with creating a Spotify mockup to give real world previews of the design.

This was a challenging project, re-designing a whole album. As the designer, you want your cover, to fit throughout all the songs in the album. Because the album “Stick Figure” is Reggae, type manipulation seemed an appropriate technique. Taking the title literally creates that chaotic, while the manipulation is free flowing like the beats in their songs.
